The Brief

Sea Harvest is one of South Africa's most established seafood brands. The brief was to launch and position their premium wood-smoked range in a way that communicated genuine craft and quality. The audience needed to understand that this wasn't standard processed fish. The wood smoking process was the hero, and the work needed to make that feel premium, considered and appetising.

The Execution

A fish steak, shot from above on crumpled wax paper, with one visual twist: the flesh of the fish displays the growth rings of a tree trunk rather than the natural texture of fish. The wood is literally in the fish. No headline. No explanation. The Sea Harvest logo and the words wood-smoked range sit quietly in the corner, trusting the image to do everything else. The wax paper background adds a final layer of craft, the kind of detail you'd see at a premium fishmonger or artisan deli, reinforcing the quality cue before a single word is read.

The Outcome

A visually arresting piece that communicated a complex product truth, real wood smoking, through a single, elegant image.
