The Brief
Coming out of Covid-19 restrictions, Pernod Ricard wanted to reconnect with their most valuable customers, social media influencers, VIPs and high-volume retail partners, in a way that felt generous, locally relevant and worth talking about. The brief was to create a limited edition gift pack that celebrated South African creative talent while showcasing the breadth of the Pernod Ricard portfolio in a single, premium object.
The Execution
Local South African artists were commissioned to create original artwork that was applied to custom-built clear acrylic carry packs, each housing a curated selection of Pernod Ricard bottles including Jameson Select Reserve, Kahlúa, and Absolut Grapefruit.
The transparent structure put the bottles on display while the bold, graffiti-influenced artwork on the side panel gave each pack the feel of a collectible art piece rather than a promotional gift. Over a hundred bespoke units were hand-assembled and distributed exclusively to the brand's top tier recipients.
The Outcome
The limited run of just over 100 packs generated strong social media engagement as recipients shared the gifts organically, delivering earned media reach across influencer networks at a fraction of paid media cost. The collaboration also positioned Pernod Ricard as an active supporter of South African creative talent at a moment when the local arts community needed it most.
